As Gordano School continued to grow in size and success, it became necessary to review and develop policies relating to student management and behaviour to ensure effective and consistent practices throughout the school.
A working party was set up and as a result, the Behaviour 4 Learning policy evolved and was introduced across the school in September 2005. The system is constantly evaluated and every year changes are made as a result of what we learn.
We have five basic school rules or expectations that encompass the students’ responsibility to themselves, other students and the wider school community. They are:
Be ready to work
Work to the best of your ability
Enable others to work
Treat others with respect
Fulfil your responsibilities
|
The two key principles we adopted were:
- Behaviour is for Learning
- Actions bring consequences
