As part of our Training School work we offer a six module Middle Leadership Course for aspiring and newly appointed Middle leaders across the whole of North Somerset.

We have been running this course twice a year for the past three years and over 150 colleagues have now participated in this work and we have been delighted by the feedback.

The first course runs from October to December and the second from May to July. Each course consists of four twilight sessions, one full day and one half day. Participants are also invited to participate in a 360◦ profiling exercise conducted by Peter Maliphant from Beacons Consultancy. All participants receive one-to one feedback from this profile.

The sessions cover the following themes that we believe prepare them for Middle leadership responsibilities:

Session 1:        Futures Thinking – What will schools be like in the future?
                        Leadership & Management
                       
Session 2:       Team Building (Facilitated by Beacons). Belbin Team Roles

Session 3:        Lesson Observation

Session 4:        Data Analysis

Session 5:        Faculty Development Planning, Running Meetings
                        Performance Management

Session 6:        Self-Evaluation
                        Time Management

We also offer a follow up service of looking at letters of application and helping candidates to prepare for interviews for Middle Leadership posts

Total Cost of Course: £150 to include 1:1 profiling
